RoHS Directive
The European
Union Directive 2002/95/EC (RoHS) restricts
the use of lead (Pb) and other harmful
substances in electrical and electronic
equipment.
The aim of
this restriction is simple: to remove a
total of six substances from electrical and
electronic equipment (EEE), thereby
contributing to the protection of human
health and the environment.
It is JCM's
goal to meet our customers' needs with
respect to RoHS. JCM is actively working to
achieve the important objective of making
all JCM products RoHS compliant before the
deadline of July 1st, 2006. Our goal is to
have the majority of our product line
available in a RoHS compliant status by
end of March 2006.
Products and carton boxes will be labeled in
the following way to identify RoHS compliant
JCM products:
JCM will also
change it's part numbers for RoHS compliant
parts.
WEEE Directive
The European
Union Directive 2002/96/EC on Waste of
Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE)
applies to companies that manufacture, sell,
distribute, recycle or treat electrical and
electronic equipment. So, JCM's products are
also affected.
This
Directive aims to reduce the waste arising
from electrical and electronic equipment and
to improve the environmental performance of
all those involved in the life cycle of
these products.
JCM is
dedicated to minimizing the impact our
products have on the environment and is in
compliance with the WEEE Directive since
August 13, 2005.
- All
our finished products are labeled with a
crossed out dustbin sticker.
- Since
August 2005 JCM is already registered at the
German Clearing House (EAR) for B2B
(Business to Business) products. According
to WEEE our products fall in category 9.
