JCM Part No . 960 - 000044R _ Rev . 2 © 2007, JCM American, Corporation 11 Soft Count - Soft Drop Intelligent Cash Box (ICB) System Soft Count Staff ICB Program Operations The "Other" Tab shown in Figure 39 ƒ is used to assign the location into which the data files will be saved . These are usually saved at the Soft Count Work Station, but may be uploaded to a server for archival purposes . Figure 39 shows the active fields seen when an MDM Other Settings Dialog Screen Tab is selected . Once all settings are complete the program is ready to operate as follows: 1 . Open a daily operation using the OPEN Screen Button located in the lower right hand corner of the primary MDM Data Screen shown in Figure 40  . 2 . The Screen Button will change to “CLOSE” and the program will poll the connected Docking Stations . 3 . The polls are represented by a Green Dot present in the POLL STATUS line (Review Figure 35) . A Green Dot means communica - tions has been established, and the unit is ready for operation . Soft Count - Soft Drop When the initialized Cash Box is placed in a machine, the Validator transmits the Machine Number to the Cash Box through optical sensors . It transmits transactions in the same way . Retrieving Cash Box Information This procedure requires a Printer Station, a Docking Station, and the necessary power cords and cabling . Begin retrieving Cash Box information by: 1 . Plugging power supply cords into available 110 Volt AC receptacles and then into the Printer Station and Docking Station . 2 . Plug the 9 - pin female - to - female cable from the Docking Station to the Printer Station . 3 . Turn both units power ON . 4 . Place a Cash Box on the Docking Station .   Information in the Cash Box memory will immediately transfer to the Docking Station which then sends it to the printer .   The printer will print a ticket using the transmitted information from the Cash Box while the LCD Screen on the Docking Station displays the download status .
